UCFW President Participates in Somalia STEM Summit 2024

The President of the Union of Commercial and Food Workers (UCFW), Yusuf Mohamed, participated in the Somalia STEM Summit 2024, held today in Mogadishu. The summit also saw the presence of key figures including the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, Hon. Osman Libax Ibrahim, and a number of young students from universities across Somalia.

The focus of the summit was on education in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The event showcased innovative projects and advancements made by Somali students in these fields. During his address, UCFW President Yusuf Mohamed highlighted the pressing need for greater focus on technical skills, science, and engineering in Somalia’s education system. He emphasized that these fields are critical for the country’s development and for creating more sustainable opportunities for young people in the workforce.
